Dealing With Jealousy At Work

Posted on May 13, 2011 by ObiOkere — 1 Comment ↓

The above video is a funny illustration on how workplace jealousy can play out.  It reminds me of a Woody Allen quote that I once heard, “People don’t hate you for your weaknesses, they hate you for your strengths.” No matter how nice or polite Continue Reading →

Not Another Boring Presentation Please!!!

Posted on March 25, 2011 by ObiOkere — Leave a reply

We’ve all been there; dull presentations that have left us intoxicated with an overwhelming sense of drowsiness.  During my college years, I knew this all too well.  My Engineering Dynamics professor’s dull lecture and monotone voice always sounded like a sweet lullaby.  It put me Continue Reading →

I love my close friends and family because they shoot the truth to me straight.  Although I have a love and hate relationship with their honestly, I can appreciate it because it shows me that they care.  Sometimes we think that we should distance ourselves from all negative people.  The reality is that they're possibly not being negative.  They are just telling you the truth. The easiest way to stay grounded in reality is to keep people around you that are willing to give you a reality check.  The challenge is in differentiating between those who have your best interest in mind and those who don't. - Obi Okere, REALIZE YOUR PEAK #behappy #positivity #positive #positivemessage #findinspiration #motivation #graditude #success #win

No matter how much we try, it's impossible for anyone to have full control over things that happen. The only thing that we have control of is ourselves and the way respond to what happens. If we could control our surroundings, we'd have no surprises, disappointments, or unexpected occurrences. That would be boring. The game of making each day a great one and constantly moving towards your goals is maintaining your positive mental state despite what happens. This means constantly being unscathed and adaptive to the surprises, disappointments, and unexpected occurrences. While chaos happens around you, continue to maintain serenity inside of you. Have a great day! -Obi Okere, REALIZE YOUR PEAK #behappy #positivity #positive #positivemessage #findinspiration #motivation #graditude #success #win #happymonday #Picturerepost @rhirhiru

One of the most challenging things to do is to recognize when things are within your area of control and when they are not as it happens. Sometimes this can be a challenge for me. What I learned is that worrying about things that I have no control of not only ruins my current moment; It messes up my next one. So I learn to simply LET GO. It's much more productive for me to focus on the things that I can directly influence. -Obi Okere, REALIZE YOUR PEAK #behappy #positivity #positive #positivemessage #findinspiration #motivation #graditude #success #win #Picturerepost @theetiffmarie

Many times when some people think about making sacrifices to achieve a goal they fear that they might be losing out on something. The reality is that sometimes one needs to take a step back to make a big leap forward. What you're holding on too might just be what's holding you back. Making a full sacrifice on what's needed is the price you pay to get what you want. Nothing comes free. Just do it. -Obi Okere, REALIZE YOUR PEAK #behappy #positivity #positive #positivemessage #findinspiration #motivation #graditude #success #win
